Proclamation in Recognition of Georgia Day, February 12, 2024

At the Thursday, February 1 regular city council meeting, Mayor Tommy Allegood presented the Annual Georgia Day Proclamation to members of the Liberty Hill Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.  This year marks the 291st anniversary in celebrating the proud and rich heritage of Georgia.  Georgians are invited to rediscover our state's natural, cultural, and historical wonders and sites, as well as recognize the people, institutions, and historic events that have shaped Georgia's place in our shared history and global commerce.

Proclamation in Recognition of Boys Scouts of America 114th Anniversary Week, February 4-10, 2024

At the Thursday, February 1 regular city countil meeting, Alderman Toby Carmichael presented the annual Scouting Anniversary Week Proclamation to Troop 730 Leader Antoine Johnson and Scouts in attendance. Recognition of Regina Robuck and Introduction of Canine Robuck to Mayor and Board

At the Thursday, January 18 regular city council meeting, Chief Evans recognized Regina Robuck for her generous contribution to the Police Department's newest member K-9 Robuck in honor of her late father Phillip Robuck.  Canine Robuck partners with Officer Anthony Trapani for the enhancement of department capabilities, actively contributes to community service, and stands as a symbol of community commitment through Ms. Robuck's thoughtful contribution.

Presentation of Donation by Helping One Guy (H.O.G) Ministries for Proceeds Raised Throughout the Year to Benefit the Horizon League

At the Thursday, January 18 regular city council meeting, Founder Bob Kelly and members of Helping One Guy (H.O.G.). presented a check donation to Mayor Tommy, Alderman Prather, and Acworth Parks, Recreation, and Community Resources Director Kim Watt in support of the Horizon League.  H.O.G. has donated to the City for the past 12 years and is committed to having fundraisers, that consist of six meals a year, for recipients with medical conditions who benefit 100% from proceeds. Swearing-In of Acworth Municipal Judges

At the Thursday, January 4 regular city council meeting, City Attorney Doug Haynie performed the swearing-in of H. Luke Mayes, IV for the role of Municipal Court Judge.  Acworth Municipal Court judges are sworn in every two years.  City Attorney Haynie also swore in Mayor Allegood as Judge Hac Vice for title purposes of performing ceremonial tasks associated with the Acworth Municipal Court.

Swearing-In of Newly Elected City of Acworth Aldermen

At the Thursday, January 4 regular city council meeting and as a result of the November 7, 2023 General Election, Alderman Elect-Post 1 Toby Carmichael and Alderman Elect-Post 2 Steve Prather were sworn in by Mayor Allegood and Alderman Post 3 Incumbent Brett North was sworn in by Deputy City Manager-Public Works/Power Director Angie Luna.  The Aldermen expressed their appreciation for their supporters and for the patience and understanding of family members in support of campaigning for respective offices.

Proclamation Recognizing Alderman Butch Price for 28 Years of Service
