DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENT, TOURISM, & HISTORIC PRESERVATION
The City of Acworth Downtown Development, Tourism, and Historic Preservation Department is staffed by city employees who assist three boards appointed by the Mayor and Board of Alderman.
Downtown Development Authority
The DDA facilitates the process of Economic Development in the Downtown Development Authority District while preserving its historic downtown heritage, and meets the third Tuesday of the month at 4:00 p.m. at Acworth City Hall.
Visit Acworth
Visit Acworth is the city’s tourism bureau authority charged with branding and marketing the city for the purpose of attracting visitors to enjoy Acworth’s two beautiful lakes and historic downtown districts. Visit Acworth meets the second Thursday of the month at 4:30 p.m. at Acworth City Hall.
Historic Preservation Commission
The HPC is charged with carrying out the provisions of the Acworth Historic Preservation Ordinance and meets monthly on the third Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. at Acworth City Hall.
