Celebrating Acworth Cadet Wins at Cobb Cadet Challenge Competition

Acworth Public Safety Cadets competed in the Cobb Cadet Challenge at the Cobb County Safety Village, taking home 6 individual trophies. Team 1 earned 1st place Suspicious Person, 1st place Domestic Dispute, 1st place Unknown Trouble, and 3rd Place Overall. Team 2 earned 2nd place Suspicious Person and 2nd Place Overall. Oath of Office Administered to Officer Emma Carey

At the Monday, November 10 special called council meeting, Chief Cheatham acknowledged and swore in Emma Carey as an Acworth Police Officer and congratulated her on obtaining her P.O.S.T. certification and graduating from the University of North Georgia with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice.   Chief Cheatham also swore in Amanda Matthews as a Public Safety Liaison (PSL).  Ms. Matthews' comes from Cobb County Animal Control and her new role as a PSL will involve transporting inmates for the Acworth Police Department.
