At the Thursday, September 7 regular city council meeting, Alderman Price presented the City of Acworth's Constitution Week proclamation to members of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Darla Valentini, Barbara Benson, Jane Bentley, and Betty Westbrook were in attendance to accept the proclamation. Constitution Week is September 17-23, and is celebrated annually to commemorate the 1787 adoption of the United States Constitution.

The City of Acworth is pleased to announce that Development Director, Alex Almodovar, has been recognized by the Cobb Chamber with the Cobb Young Professionals Next Generation Award for demonstrating leadership ability in the community and his current role and offering a unique perspective. At the Thursday, August 3, 2023 regular city council meeting, Mayor Tommy presented Doug Wallace with a proclamation to honor his years of service with the Coast Guard. Please join us in celebrating August 4th as United States Coast Guard Day as the Coast Guard protects the U.S. waterways, ports, and shorelines, and serves as a first responder on the water.

At the August 3, 2023 regular city council meeting, representatives of the Sons of the American Revolution presented Chief Jesse Evans with a certificate in appreciation of his service as a first responder. The Sons of the American Revolution is a non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history, and promoting education to our future generations.
