Ribbon Cutting Celebrating Acworth Wine & Spirits

On Friday, April 19, Mayor Allegood and the City Team celebrated the grand opening of Acworth Wine & Spirits with a ribbon cutting. Mayor Allegood thanked Mr. and Mrs. Patel for their investment in the city and welcomed Acworth Wine & Spirits to the Mill District. Acworth Wine & Spirits is located at 4705 S. Main Street.

Presidential Volunteer Service Award Presentation for Public Safety Cadets

At the Thursday, April 18 regular city council meeting, Chief Evans acknowledged Corporal Eric Mistretta for a presentation of service awards for the Acworth Public Safety Cadets recognition of the Presidential Volunteer Service Award to four public safety cadets in honor of their services to the Acworth community for 2023-2024.  Michelle Mistretta was also recognized for over 300 hours of volunteer service and her leadership in assisting with the cadet program.

Presentation from Acworth Young Aldermen on their Accomplishments During the 2023-2024 School Year

At the Thursday, April 18 regular city council meeting, Acworth Parks, Recreation and Community Resource Recreation Coordinator for Youth Programming, Jordan Gonzalez, and North Cobb High School Sponsor of the Acworth Young Aldermen, Sam Fraundorf, presented members of the Acworth Young Aldermen (AYA) before the Mayor and Board for their annual briefing.  Members of the AYA advised on accomplishments for the 2023-2024 school year to include volunteer assistance at community events, a trip to the state Capitol, and a service project for student driver safety.

Proclamation in Recognition of Patriots Day, April 19, 2024

At the Thursday, April 18 regular city council meeting, Mayor Tommy presented the annual Patriots Day Proclamation to Wayne Brown along with members of the Georgia Society Sons of the American Revolution (SAR), Capt. John Collins Chapter.  Patriot's Day is recognized in the Acworth community on April 19 in commemoration of the American Revolution.

Ribbon Cutting Celebrating New Mobi-Mat at Dallas Landing Park

On Friday, April 12, Mayor Allegood, the Special Needs Development Group, and Acworth Parks, Recreation, and Community Resource Department gathered at Dallas Landing Park for a ribbon cutting celebrating the new Mobi-Mat accessible path improving beach access at the park on Lake Allatoona. The Special Needs Development Group(SNDG) board saw a need to upgrade the aged concrete ramp at Dallas Landing Park which provided accessibility into the water.
