Administering Oath of Office for Acworth Board and Commission Members

At the Thursday, March 6 regular city council meeting, Mayor Pro-Tem Houston recognized and swore in members of the City of Acworth's board and commission members who were either new or re-appointed into their roles.  The City of Acworth is incredibly grateful for the love and dedication that its volunteer board and commission members contribute to the city's quality of life.

Swearing in of Captain Tom Elledge and Public Safety Liaison Tina Pallone

At the Thursday, March 6 regular city council meeting, Chief Mark Cheatham swore in Captain Tom Elledge and Public Safety Liaison Tina Pallone.  Captain Elledge brings over 30 years of law enforcement experience, including 28 years with the Cobb County Police Department and will lead the Operations Division for the Acworth Police Department.  Public Safety Liaison Tina Pallone brings 30 years of experience from the Bartow County Sheriff's Office to the Acworth Police Department.

Recognition of the 2025 Arbor Day Photo Contest Winners and Presentation of Acworth’s 2025 Tree City USA Designation

Proclamation Recognizing March 6, 2025 as Georgia Arbor Day in the City of Acworth

Presentation of Proclamation in Recognition of Georgia Day, February 12, 2025

At the Thursday, February 6 city council meeting, Alderman North presented the annual Georgia Day Proclamation to members of the Daughters of the American Revolution (D.A.R.) Proclamation in Recognition of Black History Month

At the Thursday, January 6 regular city council meeting, Mayor Allegood presented the annual Black History Month Proclamation to Eddie Holliman, Park Operations Supervisor for the Custodial Team. Mr. Holliman's family accompanied him for the presentation. Evans to return to District Attorney’s Office, Cheatham to become next Acworth Chief of Police

Proclamation in Recognition of Public Safety Appreciation Week, October 7-11, 2024

At the Thursday, October 17 regular city council meeting, Chief Evans presented the annual Public Safety Appreciation Week Proclamation to members of the Acworth Police Department, with special mention of Sergeant Eric Mistretta, who received the Cobb Chamber Community Improvement Award for his work in community engagement. An Acworth police officer was also honored as Cobb Chamber Officer of the Year for saving a woman's life during a mental health crisis.
