Ribbon Cutting Celebrating Henry’s Louisiana Grill

Swearing in of Elected Officials

At the Friday, January 2, special-called meeting of the Mayor and Board of Aldermen, Acworth's newly elected and re-elected representatives were sworn into office. Representing Post 4 is Alderwoman Kimberly Haase, representing Post 5 is newly re-elected Alderman Tim Houston, and Mayor Tommy Allegood was sworn in after his re-election as Mayor. Celebrating Acworth Cadet Wins at Cobb Cadet Challenge Competition

Acworth Public Safety Cadets competed in the Cobb Cadet Challenge at the Cobb County Safety Village, taking home 6 individual trophies. Team 1 earned 1st place Suspicious Person, 1st place Domestic Dispute, 1st place Unknown Trouble, and 3rd Place Overall. Team 2 earned 2nd place Suspicious Person and 2nd Place Overall. The City is incredibly proud of their hard work, teamwork, and professionalism throughout the day, and for representing Acworth with pride, confidence, and dedication.

Oath of Office Administered to Officer Emma Carey

At the Monday, November 10 special called council meeting, Chief Cheatham acknowledged and swore in Emma Carey as an Acworth Police Officer and congratulated her on obtaining her P.O.S.T. certification and graduating from the University of North Georgia with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice.   Chief Cheatham also swore in Amanda Matthews as a Public Safety Liaison (PSL).  Ms. Matthews' comes from Cobb County Animal Control and her new role as a PSL will involve transporting inmates for the Acworth Police Department.
