Celebrating Acworth Cadet Wins at Cobb Cadet Challenge Competition

Acworth Public Safety Cadets competed in the Cobb Cadet Challenge at the Cobb County Safety Village, taking home 6 individual trophies. Team 1 earned 1st place Suspicious Person, 1st place Domestic Dispute, 1st place Unknown Trouble, and 3rd Place Overall. Team 2 earned 2nd place Suspicious Person and 2nd Place Overall. The City is incredibly proud of their hard work, teamwork, and professionalism throughout the day, and for representing Acworth with pride, confidence, and dedication.

City of Acworth Named Atlanta’s 2nd Healthiest Employer

The City of Acworth is excited to announce that it has been ranked Atlanta's 2nd Healthiest Employer-Medium Company by the Atlanta Business Chronicle! At the Thursday, December 4, regular city council meeting, Human Resources Director Dana Alvin recognized the city's wellness committee for its advocacy for opportunities and educational resources to encourage healthy habits and preventative screenings for the City Team.

In Connie's role as a City of Acworth Finance Department Accountant, she has supported the City in numerous ways including project accounting, bank reconciliation, vendor management, payroll, and other accounting responsibilities.

Oath of Office Administered to Officer Emma Carey

At the Monday, November 10 special called council meeting, Chief Cheatham acknowledged and swore in Emma Carey as an Acworth Police Officer and congratulated her on obtaining her P.O.S.T. certification and graduating from the University of North Georgia with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice.   Chief Cheatham also swore in Amanda Matthews as a Public Safety Liaison (PSL).  Ms. Matthews' comes from Cobb County Animal Control and her new role as a PSL will involve transporting inmates for the Acworth Police Department.
