Acworth City Council regular meetings occur on the first and third Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. The meetings take place in council chambers at Acworth City Hall (4415 Center Street).
The 2024 Historic Downtown Acworth Farmer’s Market will take place on Friday mornings between April 5 and October 25 from 8:00 a.m. to noon. The market is located in the Logan Farm Park Expansion, located at 4405 Cherokee Street in Acworth. Market customers will have a wide variety of garden ripe Georgia grown vegetables, eggs, cheese, bedding plants, fresh-baked bread, pies, cakes, honey, and jams to choose from each week. The Lake Authority is a five-member board where the elected Mayor serves as the Chairman. The remaining four members are appointed by the Mayor and Board to serve. They are a group of citizens that assist the City by providing citizen input and engagement into the operation, management, and the development of master plans for Federally leased properties around Lake Acworth. The Lake Authority meets at the Acworth Community Center (4361 Cherokee Street) on the first Monday of the month at noon.
The Acworth Tree Commission is a five-member board appointed by the Mayor and Board of Aldermen for staggered terms of four years. The Commission is responsible for the annual Arbor Day program, planting of trees in the community, and leading the efforts of the Acworth Community Garden. The Commission meets the second Tuesday of January, April, July, and October at 3:45 p.m. at the Acworth Community Center.
Visit Acworth is the city's tourism bureau authority charged with branding and marketing the city for the purpose of attracting visitors to enjoy Acworth's two beautiful lakes and historic downtown districts. Visit Acworth meets the second Thursday of the month at 4:30 p.m. at Acworth City Hall.

The Taste of Acworth is an annual event that will take place on Saturday, October 12, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The City of Acworth partners with the Acworth Business Association and JRM Management to host this event on Main Street in Downtown Acworth. Please join Mayor Tommy Allegood at the Tanyard Creek Overlook in the Acworth Community Center on Tuesday, October 22 at 6:30 p.m. for the Acworth Fall Town Hall to learn about upcoming and ongoing city projects. This event also gives the opportunity for the Acworth community to learn more about the city by engaging with department leaders who will be onsite to discuss the roles their department plays within the city team.
The Acworth Planning & Zoning Commission is responsible for ensuring developments are coordinated and harmonious with existing and future needs and consistent with the City's Comprehensive Plan. The Commission meets on the fourth Tuesday of every month to review rezoning, annexation, and other requests at Acworth City Hall (4415 Center Street).
The HPC is charged with carrying out the provisions of the Acworth Historic Preservation Ordinance and meets quarterly on the fourth Thursday of January, April, July, and October at 12:00 p.m. at Acworth City Hall.
