    The Lake Authority is a five-member board where the elected Mayor serves as the Chairman.  The remaining four members are appointed by the Mayor and Board to serve.  They are a group of citizens that assist the City by providing citizen input and engagement into the operation, management, and the development of master plans for Federally leased properties around Lake Acworth. The Lake Authority meets at the Acworth Community Center (4361 Cherokee Street) on the first Monday of the month at noon.

  • Mother-Son Campout

    Acworth Community Center 4361 Cherokee Street, Acworth, GA

    The Acworth Parks, Recreation and Community Resource Department is excited to host the Mother-Son Camp Out at Proctor Landing Park on September 12-13, 2026. This event is open to mothers and their sons, 13 and under. Participants will camp alongside the beautiful Lake Allatoona while learning about camping etiquette, campfire building, knot tying, and a variety of other outdoor activities!
