Mayor Allegood and the City Team welcomed Bows and Ties Children's Boutique to Historic Downtown Main Street on Thursday, February 15 with a ribbon cutting. Bows and Ties Children's Boutique offers a variety of children's clothing and accessories. The business is located at 4809 South Main Street, Acworth, GA, 30101. Mayor Allegood congratulated business owner, Kwanza Zimmerman, on her new venture, and thanked her for her investment in the city.

Recognition of Lauren Ham for Fifteen Years of Service to the City of Acworth

At the Thursday, February 1 regular city council meeting, Acworth Parks, Recreation and Community Resource Department Director Kim Watt recognized Lauren Ham, Therapeutic Recreation Coordinator, for 15 years of service with the City of Acworth.  Ms. Ham was commended for her role and contributions in fostering special needs programs in the Acworth community through the Horizon League.

Proclamation in Recognition of Boys Scouts of America 114th Anniversary Week, February 4-10, 2024

Recognition of Regina Robuck and Introduction of Canine Robuck to Mayor and Board

At the Thursday, January 18 regular city council meeting, Chief Evans recognized Regina Robuck for her generous contribution to the Police Department's newest member K-9 Robuck in honor of her late father Phillip Robuck.  Canine Robuck partners with Officer Anthony Trapani for the enhancement of department capabilities, actively contributes to community service, and stands as a symbol of community commitment through Ms. Robuck's thoughtful contribution.

Presentation of Donation by Helping One Guy (H.O.G) Ministries for Proceeds Raised Throughout the Year to Benefit the Horizon League

At the Thursday, January 18 regular city council meeting, Founder Bob Kelly and members of Helping One Guy (H.O.G.). presented a check donation to Mayor Tommy, Alderman Prather, and Acworth Parks, Recreation, and Community Resources Director Kim Watt in support of the Horizon League.  H.O.G. has donated to the City for the past 12 years and is committed to having fundraisers, that consist of six meals a year, for recipients with medical conditions who benefit 100% from proceeds. Swearing-In of Acworth Municipal Judges

At the Thursday, January 4 regular city council meeting, City Attorney Doug Haynie performed the swearing-in of H. Luke Mayes, IV for the role of Municipal Court Judge.  Acworth Municipal Court judges are sworn in every two years.  City Attorney Haynie also swore in Mayor Allegood as Judge Hac Vice for title purposes of performing ceremonial tasks associated with the Acworth Municipal Court.
