At the Thursday, September 5 regular city council meeting, Alderman Houston presented the Childhood Cancer Awareness Month Proclamation to members of the Mighty Millie Foundation.  Childhood Cancer Awareness Month is recognized annually in September to honor youth who are courageously battling pediatric cancer and encourage citizens to join in supporting activities and events throughout the month to support families walking their journeys through difficult times.

Mayor Allegood and representatives from the City of Acworth were excited to celebrate Cabela’s 10th anniversary on Wednesday, August 21 with a ribbon-cutting. At the Thursday, August 15 regular city council meeting, acting Mayor Pro-Tem Tim Richardson presented the annual National Payroll Week Proclamation to members of Acworth Finance and Human Resources Teams for their continuous hard work in processing payroll for city employees.  National Payroll Week will be recognized September 2-6, 2024.

Mayor Allegood, Alderman Houston, and the City Team were excited to welcome Academy Roofing to their new space in downtown Acworth on Thursday, August 8 with a celebratory ribbon cutting. Mayor thanked Jennifer, Stephen, and the entire Academy roofing team for their investment in the city and congratulated them on their new space at 4463 Cherokee Street overlooking the Parkside roundabout.
