Swearing-In of Captain Michael Taylor to the Rank of Major

At the Thursday, January 16 regular city council meeting, Chief Cheatham administered the oath and swore-in Captain Michael Taylor to the rank of Major with the Acworth Police Department.  Major Taylor began his service to our nation as a United States Marine Corps veteran, serving honorably in both Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm. After his military service, he embarked on a law enforcement career at the Rome Police Department in 1998. In 2001, Major Taylor joined the Acworth Police Department, where he has devoted nearly 24 years of service. Major Taylor expressed gratitude to his family and colleagues for their support.
