On Monday, October 6, Alderman Richardson, Alderman Carmichael, and the City Team joined the Save Acworth History Foundation, along with Moose McCray, Helen Nicholson, and other members of the McCray family, to celebrate the unveiling of a new historic storyboard in honor of their mother, Ruby McCray, at her namesake’s Gazebo at Logan Farm Park on Cherokee Street. Located on the property of the original family home, the storyboard honors Mrs. McCray, her dedication to her family, and the many amazing memories she helped create for the Acworth community, from holiday decorations to petting zoos! The McCray Farm House, which stands on the property today, will soon be relocated to Logan Farm Park next to the Art House, where it will be renovated and its historic charm preserved for future generations to come. Thank you to KSU Museums, Archives & Rare Books – MARB for their contributions to this project, helping to preserve Acworth’s history through storytelling.
