Mayor Allegood, Alderman Steve Prather, Alderman Brett North, Alderwoman Kimberly Haase, and the City team were thrilled to celebrate the completion of Phase 1 of the Lake Acworth Master Plan with a ribbon cutting on Thursday, March 5! This event marked an important milestone in the 20-year plan, with Cauble Park renovations that included all new pavilions and picnic areas, an expanded 12-foot trail, and more.
The City is incredibly grateful to speakers Doug Evans of the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers, Ken Hammon of American Engineers Inc., and Dennis Barnett of the Acworth Lake Authority, for their partnership and dedication to this project, as well as Alderman Steve Prather for his continued support beginning with his years on the Acworth Lake Authority. This project would not have been possible without the care and collaboration of so many.
Representatives from the Army Corp of Engineers also highlighted the significant effort that has gone into bringing the Lake Acworth Master Plan to life over the last 25 years, ensuring this public land will be used and enjoyed by the entire community for generations to come.
