At the Thursday, November 20 regular city council meeting, Mayor Allegood presented a proclamation to Mary Koronkowski from March of Dimes in recognition of World Prematurity Awareness Day on November 17, 2025.

Ms. Koronkowski highlighted that one in eight children in Georgia is born prematurely, ranking the state below the national average, and invited the city to join the effort to highlight, raise awareness of, and stand by families impacted by premature births. Further, she invited the community to the March for Babies event to be held at the Battery next spring.
