At the Thursday, September 4 regular city council meeting, Mayor Allegood presented the annual Childhood Cancer Awareness Month Proclamation to family members of the Mighty Millie Foundation in honor of Millie Mracek who lost her battle with cancer at the age of three and a half in 2021, others who have passed during their fight, and those courageously battling pediatric cancer now. A local fundraiser has been organized at Generations Pizza. Acworth residents are encouraged to support activities and events throughout the month of September to honor families bravely walking through this journey every step of the way, and to let them know that they are they are not alone.
