At the Thursday, February 5 regular city council meeting, Mayor Allegood presented the annual Black History Month Proclamation to Alderwoman Kimberly Haase and her family. The 2026 Black History Month theme, “A Century of Black History Commemorations,” marks a historic milestone reflecting one hundred years of national efforts to study, honor, and commemorate African American heritage. The City of Acworth encourages all residents to join together as we celebrate and reflect on the rich history and teachings of the Black communities and leaders whose contributions have played a significant role in quality of life in Acworth.
