What is my Resident/Non-Resident status when registering for programs?

Recently, Cobb County and all the cities within the county worked together to update a "489 - Service Delivery Strategy" agreement. Prior to this, many of our City programs included a resident and non-resident fee that was applied dependent on whether you lived within the city limits of Acworth. Through this negotiation process with the County, the City of Acworth agreed to extend resident status to not only those living within the City limits, but also to include anyone residing in Cobb County. Depot Park

4794 South Main Street Located at the intersection of Main Street and Lemon Street, Depot Park serves as a historical resource to the community. Home to the Depot Park History Center, this landmark houses electronic displays telling of Acworth’s history including nineteen professionally produced videos, more than fifty oral histories from long time Acworth residents, and static storyboards that tell a history in written format and pictures. Amos Durr Community Field

4733 School Street Amos Durr Community Field is primarily used by the Acworth Baseball Association. Durr Field features parking with an ADA-compliant trail and restrooms.

Baker Plantation Neighborhood Park

4790 Baker Plantation Drive Baker Plantation Neighborhood Park is a one half-acre neighborhood park located in the Baker Plantation subdivision located off Baker Road. The park contains a playground, two grills and a picnic pavilion. The pavilion can be used on a first-come-first-served basis. The park hours are from sunrise to sunset. Doyal Hill Park

4410 Cherokee Street Located adjacent to the Rosenwald School and Acworth Community Center, this park serves as an outdoor interpretive history area featuring public art honoring Acworth's rich African American History. East Lakeshore Drive Park

4449 East Lakeshore Drive East Lakeshore Park is located off of East Lakeshore Drive near downtown Acworth. The one and a half acre park includes a playground, picnic benches, and an open play area. Frana Brown Park

4901 North Main Street Frana Brown Park is located on the corner of Main Street and Morningside Drive right in the heart of the downtown business district. The quarter of an acre park contains a fountain and benches for relaxation. Frana Brown Park opens at 6:00 a.m. and closes at midnight. The downtown park also contains the original bell from the Acworth Methodist Episcopal Church South. The church congregation was established in 1905.

Overlook Park

4636 Lake Acworth Drive Overlook Park is located off Hwy 92 near the bridge over Lake Acworth and Lake Allatoona. The one and a half-acre park overlooks beautiful Lake Acworth. The park offers great fishing and picnicking opportunities. Newberry Park

4321 Toccoa Drive Newberry Park is located off of Toccoa Drive. The 12-acre park contains a baseball field, concession stand, and indoor and outdoor batting cages. Newberry Park is home to the Acworth Baseball Association's Senior League. The baseball field at Newberry Park is known as the historic Coats and Clark Field and is for kids ages 13 through 16. South Shore Park

4555 Ragsdale Road South Shore Park is open year-round and located on Ragsdale Road off Highway 92. This 30-acre park sits on the South Side of beautiful Lake Acworth and contains parking, a beach, and fishing areas.
