The Lake Authority is a five-member board where the elected Mayor serves as the Chairman. The remaining four members are appointed by the Mayor and Board to serve. They are a group of citizens that assist the City by providing citizen input and engagement into the operation, management, and the development of master plans for Federally leased properties around Lake Acworth. The Lake Authority meets at the Acworth Community Center (4361 Cherokee Street) on the first Monday of the month at noon.
Acworth City Council regular meetings occur on the first and third Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. The meetings take place in council chambers at Acworth City Hall (4415 Center Street).
The Acworth Tree Commission is a five-member board appointed by the Mayor and Board of Aldermen for staggered terms of four years. The Commission is responsible for the annual Arbor Day program, planting of trees in the community, and leading the efforts of the Acworth Community Garden. The Commission meets the second Tuesday of January, April, July, and October at 3:45 p.m. at the Acworth Community Center.
Visit Acworth is the city's tourism bureau authority charged with branding and marketing the city for the purpose of attracting visitors to enjoy Acworth's two beautiful lakes and historic downtown districts. Visit Acworth meets the second Thursday of the month at 4:30 p.m. at Acworth City Hall.

The Acworth MLK Celebration and Day of Service will be held Monday, January 15, 2024. The community is welcome to join us for a light welcome breakfast at 8:30 a.m. at the Roberts School Community and Education Center. Following the welcome breakfast, the Unity Walk will begin at 9:15 a.m. and leave from the Roberts School and finish at the Acworth Community Center. The DDA facilitates the process of Economic Development in the Downtown Development Authority District while preserving its historic downtown heritage, and meets the third Tuesday of the month at 4:00 p.m. at Acworth City Hall.

The Commission meets on the fourth Tuesday of every month to review rezoning, annexation, and other requests at Acworth City Hall (4415 Center Street).
