On Saturday, March 30, Acworth will host a Classic Car Cruise in Downtown Acworth. The event will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Logan Farm Park (4405 Cherokee Street). The Lake City Cruisers partner with the City and the downtown Acworth merchants to hold these Classic Car Cruises. The event is free to the public. A $5 entry fee is requested for all vehicles in the cruise. All proceeds go to the Horizon Field, an all-inclusive special needs sports facility in Acworth. READ MORE
The Lake Authority is a five-member board where the elected Mayor serves as the Chairman. The remaining four members are appointed by the Mayor and Board to serve. They are a group of citizens that assist the City by providing citizen input and engagement into the operation, management, and the development of master plans for Federally leased properties around Lake Acworth. The Lake Authority meets at the Acworth Community Center (4361 Cherokee Street) on the first Monday of the month at noon.
Mayor & Board of Aldermen work sessions occur Mondays of regular council meeting weeks from 6:30 p.m. at Acworth City Hall (4415 Center Street).

The 2024 Historic Downtown Acworth Farmer’s Market will take place on Friday mornings between April 5 and October 25 from 8:00 a.m. to noon. The Mayor and Board of Aldermen invite you to an upcoming Public Information Open House on Monday, April 8 from 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. to learn about the proposed overlay district map included in the zoning ordinance map amendments. The overlay is a tool that provides certain review criteria for defined areas of the community to assist in maintaining the character of the areas included within the overlay boundary. The Acworth Tree Commission is a five-member board appointed by the Mayor and Board of Aldermen for staggered terms of four years. The Commission is responsible for the annual Arbor Day program, planting of trees in the community, and leading the efforts of the Acworth Community Garden. The Commission meets the second Tuesday of January, April, July, and October at 3:45 p.m. at the Acworth Community Center.
