The Lake Authority is a five-member board where the elected Mayor serves as the Chairman. The remaining four members are appointed by the Mayor and Board to serve. They are a group of citizens that assist the City by providing citizen input and engagement into the operation, management, and the development of master plans for Federally leased properties around Lake Acworth. The Lake Authority meets at the Acworth Community Center (4361 Cherokee Street) on the first Monday of the month at noon.
Acworth City Council regular meetings occur on the first and third Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. The meetings take place in council chambers at Acworth City Hall (4415 Center Street).
The 2023 Historic Downtown Acworth Farmer’s Market will take place on Friday mornings between April 7 and October 27 from 8:00 a.m. to noon. The market is located in the Logan Farm Park Expansion, located at 4405 Cherokee Street in Acworth. The Acworth Parks, Recreation and Community Resource Department is excited to host the Mother-Son Camp Out at Proctor Landing Park on September 16-17, 2023. This event is open to mothers and their sons, 13 and under. Participants will camp alongside the beautiful Lake Allatoona while learning about camping etiquette, campfire building, knot tying, and a variety of other outdoor activities!
