Celebrating the 55th Annual Professional Municipal Clerks Week

Published On: May 5, 2024

May 5 through May 11, 2024 marks the 55th Annual Professional Municipal Clerks Week as recognized by Governor Kemp and the State of Georgia. Initiated in 1969 by IIMC and endorsed by all of its members throughout the United States, Canada and fifteen other countries, this week is a time of celebration and reflection on the importance of the Clerk’s office. In 1984, President Ronald Reagan signed a proclamation that officially declared Municipal Clerks Week the first full week of May. In 1994 and 1996, President Bill Clinton also signed proclamations confirming Municipal Clerks Week. Municipal Clerks Week is being recognized May 5-11 in the City of Acworth in appreciation to City and Deputy Clerks for their vital services and exemplary dedication to the Acworth community.
