Proclamation Recognizing Alderman Gene Pugliese for 16 Years of Service

Officer of the Quarter Presentation by the Acworth Police Department

At the Thursday, December 7 regular city council meeting, Chief Evans and Sergeant Hunt presented the Officer of the Quarter Award to Officer Negrete. Officer Negrete was selected by his peers for his work on a traffic stop that led to the arrest of a person with two warrants who was also in possession of large quantities of THC and marijuana.

Proclamation in Recognition of National Guard Day on December 13, 2023

At the Thursday, December 7 regular city council meeting, Alderman Gene Pugliese presented the National Guard Day proclamation to Specialist EO4 Kiera-Grace DeSanto. National Guard Day is celebrated on December 13 in observance of being formed on this date 387 years ago in 1636 in Massachusetts. Presentation Recognizing Deputy City Clerk, Christie Burgner

At the Thursday, December 7 regular city council meeting, Mayor Allegood presented Deputy City Clerk, Christie Burgner, with a plaque recognizing her years of dedicated service and commitment to the City of Acworth. Recognition of the Acworth Public Safety Cadets for being named Champions at the LEEAG State Championship

Acworth Police Chief Jesse Evans along with Corporal Eric Mistretta acknowledged Acworth Public Safety Cadets in recognition for competing in the LEEAG State Championship where they show cased their skills and dedication. Proclamation in Recognition of United States Marine Corps Day, November 10, 2023

At the Thursday, November 2 regular city council meeting, Alderman Richardson presented the annual proclamation in recognition of United States Marine Corps Day to Veteran Staff Sergeant Henry Alexander. Mr. Alexander served in the Marine Corps from 1968 to 1969 until he was wounded in action and additionally served 16 years with the USMC Reserves at NAS Atlanta. Oath of Office for Newly Promoted Corporal Lumpkin with Acworth Police

At the Thursday, November 2 regular city council meeting, Chief Evans administered the oath of office and swearing in of Corporal Cody Lumpkin.  Corporal Lumpkin was surrounded by his family and members of the Acworth Police Department for the occasion.  Corporal Lumpkin began employment with the Acworth Police Department on June 8, 2015, and has served as a patrol officer in addition to time spent time in Special Operations prior to his recent promotion.

Ribbon Cutting Celebrating Acworth Vintage & Vinyl

On Friday, October 20, Mayor Allegood and the City Team celebrated the grand opening of Acworth Vintage & Vinyl with an official ribbon cutting. Acworth Vintage & Vinyl is located at 4510 South Main Street across from the Holbrook, and the Acworth community looks forward to its new chapter in the Mill District.
