Mayor Tommy acknowledged several small City businesses to include Urban Pop Comics, Hippie Kids/Cafe Coco, Appalachian Outfitters, Portal Pinball, and Miss L’s Sandwich Shop and who were recipients of the annual proclamation in recognition of November 25, 2023, as Small Business Saturday (SBS).  Mayor Tommy acknowledged and thanked DDA members Kim Wigginton and Mindy Newman for their responsibility in recruiting new businesses, as well as supporting existing businesses in the Historic Downtown.  Small Business Saturday was initiated as a national effort to drive consumers to shop at local independently owned businesses on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, November 25, 2023.
