Plaque Dedication for Unique Knitting Company
On Thursday, May 11 at the Acworth Depot Park History Center, the Save Acworth History Foundation dedicated a plaque to be hung on the fence along downtown Main Street celebrating the Unique Knitting Company.
The Unique Knitting Company operated in Acworth from 1926-1982 and manufactured hosiery. They even made socks to supply the military during World War II. Rick and Bob Kienel were present to honor their family who started the business. They shared fond memories of how employees felt like family in a company that supported a hardworking culture that cared about their staff.
The City of Acworth looks forward to the plaque being installed on Main Street alongside others from businesses that have helped shape Acworth into the wonderful place it is.
