In November of 2022, Mayor Allegood joined the Acworth Active Adults at the North Cobb Senior Center to plant hundreds of bulbs as part of The Daffodil Project. This spring, the daffodils have bloomed beautifully. The daffodils were planted outside the senior center in honor of children lost to the Holocaust. This living memorial project hopes to plant 1.5 million symbolic daffodils in support for children across the world who continue to suffer humanitarian crises. At the Thursday, February 16 regular city council meeting, Alderman Pugliese presented a check to Tony Alexander of the Cobb Veterans Memorial Foundation. Mr. Alexander thanked Mayor and Board and advised that the funds collected would be used to build a memorial in Cobb County for all veterans of all branches of the military and their families.

At the Thursday, February 16 regular city council meeting, Alderman North presented a proclamation in recognition of Black History Month to the Acworth Achievers afterschool program which is held at the historic Roberts School Community Center. Regina Russell, City Clerk of Acworth, Georgia, has been elected to serve as the President of the Georgia Municipal Clerks Association (GMCA) for 2023. Mayor Allegood presented the Georgia Day Proclamation to the Liberty Hill Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.  Melinda Allen accepted the proclamation and commended the City on it's proper use and display of the American Flag. All Georgians are invited to rediscover our state's natural and historical wonders and sites as February 12th has been proclaimed Georgia Day.

Members of Boy Scout Troop 116 and Cub Scout Pack 730 led the Invocation and Pledge of Allegiance at the February 2nd City Council Meeting. The Scouts also received a proclamation in recognition of the 113th anniversary of the Scouts.
