Swearing in of Captain David St. Onge
The Acworth Police Department is proud to announce the promotion of Captain St. Onge. During the Thursday, June 15 regular city council meeting, Chief Jesse Evans administered the oath of office to former Lieutenant of the Criminal Investigations Division, and newest member of Command Staff, Captain St. Onge.
Captain St. Onge served in the US Marine Corps prior to joining the police department. He began his law enforcement career with the Acworth Police Department in 2012 and has served in both the Uniform Patrol Division and the Criminal Investigations Division. He has a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Reinhardt University as well as Georgia P.O.S.T. Advanced, Supervisory, and Intermediate Certifications.
Captain St. Onge has led the Criminal Investigations Division through multiple complex investigations of serious crimes with overwhelmingly positive outcomes. He has also led the agency in the use of investigative technology including Mobile License Plate Readers, Flock cameras, and most recently our partnership with the Real Time Crime Center. Under his leadership, the Criminal Investigations Division has grown from a team of detectives to one that now includes civilian personnel including an evidence tech, a crime analyst, a victim advocate, and our sworn detectives.
Please join the City in congratulating Captain St. Onge on his promotion!
