At the Thursday, March 6 regular city council meeting, Alderman Prather presented the annual Georgia Arbor Day Proclamation to members of the Acworth Tree Commission.  The City of Acworth was recently awarded and has received its Tree City USA designation since 1998. Georgia Arbor Day is held annually throughout the state to recognize the important effects of a healthy tree canopy and the environmental, economic, and social benefits of community trees and forests. Acworth citizens are urged to celebrate and support efforts to protect our trees and woodlands.
