Mayor Tommy presented the annual proclamation in recognition of Patriots’ Day to Wayne Brown and Earl Cagle of the Georgia Society Sons of the American Revolution (SAR), Captain John Collins Chapter.  April 19 marks the date in 1775 when the towns of Lexington and Concord, Massachusetts were marched upon by the British regulars in an effort to confiscate munitions of the local militia.  The SAR urge Acworth citizens to become more knowledgeable of the role that the Revolutionary War played in establishing the United States of America.
