Recognition of Lieutenant Evan Wallace for Ten Years of Service to the City

At the May 2, regular city council meeting, Chief Evans recognized Lt. Wallace for ten years of service to the Acworth community.  Lt. Wallace was previously assigned as a supervisor within the patrol division and currently serves as the Commander of the Criminal Investigation Division.  Lt. Wallace's spouse accompanied him for the presentation.

Presentation of the Life Saving Award to Detective Hardy and Officer Salone

At the Thursday, May 2 regular city council meeting, Chief Evans and Lt. Hunt had the honor of presenting Detective Hardy and Officer Salone with a Lifesaving award. Earlier this year, both officers responded to a medical emergency and found a victim unresponsive. Without hesitation, they quickly went into action, performing CPR. Their swift and decisive actions saved the victim's life. Congratulations to Detective Hardy and Officer Salone for their dedication to serving our community!

Ribbon Cutting Celebrating Lake Pointe Wellness

On Thursday, May 2, Mayor Allegood and the City Team celebrated the grand opening of Lake Pointe Wellness with a ribbon cutting. Congratulations to Dr. Deb Schreibman and team, and thank you for investing in the City of Acworth! Lake Pointe Wellness Center offers functional medicine from acupuncture to chiropractic care, and is located at 3450 Acworth Due West Road, Building 500.

Proclamation Presentation for National Day of Prayer

Presidential Volunteer Service Award Presentation for Public Safety Cadets

At the Thursday, April 18 regular city council meeting, Chief Evans acknowledged Corporal Eric Mistretta for a presentation of service awards for the Acworth Public Safety Cadets recognition of the Presidential Volunteer Service Award to four public safety cadets in honor of their services to the Acworth community for 2023-2024.  Michelle Mistretta was also recognized for over 300 hours of volunteer service and her leadership in assisting with the cadet program.

Presentation from Acworth Young Aldermen on their Accomplishments During the 2023-2024 School Year

At the Thursday, April 18 regular city council meeting, Acworth Parks, Recreation and Community Resource Recreation Coordinator for Youth Programming, Jordan Gonzalez, and North Cobb High School Sponsor of the Acworth Young Aldermen, Sam Fraundorf, presented members of the Acworth Young Aldermen (AYA) before the Mayor and Board for their annual briefing.  Members of the AYA advised on accomplishments for the 2023-2024 school year to include volunteer assistance at community events, a trip to the state Capitol, and a service project for student driver safety.
