The Lake Authority is a five-member board where the elected Mayor serves as the Chairman.  The remaining four members are appointed by the Mayor and Board to serve.  They are a group of citizens that assist the City by providing citizen input and engagement into the operation, management, and the development of master plans for Federally leased properties around Lake Acworth. The Lake Authority meets at the Acworth Community Center (4361 Cherokee Street) on the first Monday of the month at noon.

Please join Mayor Tommy Allegood at the Tanyard Creek Overlook in the Acworth Community Center on Tuesday, October 22 at 6:30 p.m. for the Acworth Fall Town Hall to learn about upcoming and ongoing city projects. This event also gives the opportunity for the Acworth community to learn more about the city by engaging with department leaders who will be onsite to discuss the roles their department plays within the city team.

The Acworth Tree Commission is a five-member board appointed by the Mayor and Board of Aldermen for staggered terms of four years. The Commission is responsible for the annual Arbor Day program, planting of trees in the community, and leading the efforts of the Acworth Community Garden. The Commission meets the second Tuesday of January, April, July, and October at 3:45 p.m. at the Acworth Community Center.
