At the Thursday, November 2 regular city council meeting, Alderman Richardson presented the annual proclamation in recognition of United States Marine Corps Day to Veteran Staff Sergeant Henry Alexander. Mr. Alexander served in the Marine Corps from 1968 to 1969 until he was wounded in action and additionally served 16 years with the USMC Reserves at NAS Atlanta. Mr. Alexander is also a lifetime member of our local American Legion Post 304 as he continues his commitment to our veterans and country. Acworth citizens are urged to recognize November 10 as United States Marine Corps Day in honor of the service, sacrifice, and faithfulness of the United States Marine Corps and their families, in acknowledgment of those among us who have served with this outstanding and respected Corps.
