The Acworth Tree Commission is a five-member board appointed by the Mayor and Board of Aldermen for staggered terms of four years. The Commission is responsible for the annual Arbor Day program, planting of trees in the community, and leading the efforts of the Acworth Community Garden. The Commission meets the second Tuesday of January, April, July, and October at 3:45 p.m. at the Acworth Community Center.

Mayor & Board of Aldermen work sessions occur Mondays of regular council meeting weeks from 6:30 p.m. at Acworth City Hall (4415 Center Street).
The DDA facilitates the process of Economic Development in the Downtown Development Authority District while preserving its historic downtown heritage, and meets the third Tuesday of the month at 4:00 p.m. at Acworth City Hall.
The HPC is charged with carrying out the provisions of the Acworth Historic Preservation Ordinance and meets monthly on the third Wednesday of the month at 6:00 p.m. at Acworth City Hall.
